Eliminate wrinkles along the forehead, between the eyebrows

and at the outer corners of the eyes.

Neurotoxins

This procedure relies on injections of botulinum toxin into the muscles of the face that are responsible for squinting and frowning. By rendering these muscles inactive, there will be a softening or in some cases elimination of facial wrinkles. Traditionally, Botox has been used to treat creases along the forehead, between the eyebrows and at the outer corners of the eyes. ("crow’s feet") More recently, the use of Botox has expanded and it has proven useful to treat lipstick lines, depressions at the outer corners of the mouth and creases along the chin. The procedure is performed in the office with use of a topical anesthetic and takes 10-20 minutes depending on the number of areas being treated. The results take effect about 48 hours after the injection and last between 3-4 months. At that time, the Botox injections can be repeated.
