Earlobe Surgery
Earlobe surgery can be done in patients whose earlobes have become stretched or elongated or have actually split. This is often secondary to trauma or to wearing heavy earrings over a long period of time. An earlobe reduction removes excess skin and can be done under local anesthesia. A split earlobe can also be repaired under local anesthesia and will typically have to be repierced 8 weeks later.
