Susan C. Hurt, M.D.

Dermatologist

Doctor Susan C. Hurt has recently joined Paces Plastic Surgery for the practice of Dermatology. Dr. Hurt is a Georgia native and a fourth generation physician. She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and attended medical school at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, where she also completed her Dermatology Residency. During her residency, Dr. Hurt served as a reviewer for the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and was chosen for a British Association of Dermatologists Fellowship award. She also served as Chief Resident of Dermatology.

Dr. Hurt has practiced Dermatology in the West Paces Ferry area of Atlanta for the past 23 years. She is a Diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Georgia Society of Dermatologists, and the Atlanta Dermatological Association, where she serves on the Legislative Committee. She was involved in the sponsorship and passage of the “Direct Access to Dermatology” legislation signed into state law in 1995 by then Governor Zell Miller. Dr. Hurt is also a member of the Medical Association of Atlanta and the Medical Association of Georgia. She has special interests in the areas of skin cancer management, aesthetic dermatology, and in dermatology as it relates to internal disease. When not practicing medicine, Dr. Hurt is involved in many philanthropic endeavors, including support of the Shepherd Center, Juvenile Diabetes, and the Atlanta History Center, among others.
